Rent or buy this ASAP. Renting it and then buying the DVD is good, too.

Give Vera Drake a go, too. (The movie )

I wasn't bad for the usual B horror flick. They tend to hammer the plot into you for awhile, making it too obvious what the back story is, but they redeem themselves at the end with a nice little story twist. It didn't end up nearly as 'by the book' as I expected.

It's a story about a group of Confederate soldiers (actually probably deserters) who rob a bank and then hold up in an old plantation house for the night before heading for Mexico. The house has a past though, and it comes back to bite them. It's a little bit ghost movie, little bit monster movie.

I wouldn't say it was great, but it was well worth renting. Oh, and there's only one dead bird in the whole movie, and he's got nothing to do with anything.
